Leather binding with tooled design incorporating fleur-de-lis on front and rear covers and raised bands on the spine. This edition contains both tomes (volumes), each with a red and black title-page and 3 fold-out engraved illustrations (one is detached), including frontis, covers are rubbed with wear on corners and spine ends, sound binding, clean pages, end-papers are darkened and front end-paper has top corner missing. A Leather-bound pocket sized volume containing 3 works in the "Cooke's Pocket Edition of the Original and Complete Select British Poets or Entertaining Poetical Library containing the most esteemed Poetic Introductions, Superbly Embellished". Each work starts with a vignette (illustrated) title-page, contains inset illustrations and there is a total of five additional plates, the plates are dated in the late 1790's, the title-pages do not include a publication date. The leather binding has black spine labels and gilt decoration to the spine and the edges, the covers are rubbed, both external hinges are cracked but the covers remain firmly attached, the binding is sound, there is an inked name and number on a front end-paper, pages are clean but darkened, more so in the last of the works.
